Three Days in Khánh Hòa, Looking for Nothing in Particular

Khánh Hòa doesn't advertise itself as an aloeswood province the way some regions have started to. There's no visitor center, no interpretive signage — just a handful of families whose grandparents gathered wood in the same hills, and who still speak about specific trees the way other families speak about relatives.

What struck me most was how little the conversation centered on price. Ask about a specific piece and you get a story about where it was found, who found it, and what condition the tree was in — the commercial value comes up almost as an afterthought, once the story is finished.
