Acquired from a third-generation gathering family in Khánh Hòa province. The tree was reported partially fallen and buried at the time of discovery — consistent with the slow, undisturbed formation Kyara-grade material requires.
Dense, dark, and cool to the touch even after handling — sinks fully in water. Surface shows the fine black veining typical of the highest grades from this region.
Heating Notes
Faint, cool, slightly medicinal.
Resin and dark wood emerge; a light animalic note underneath.
Full resinous-balsamic character, minimal smoke, notable depth.
Long persistence, sweetens slightly as it cools.
Vietnamese Grading
Physical traits and scent character, scored on the traditional Vietnamese 10-point scale.
Visual and sink-test consistent with wild-harvested Aquilaria crassna. No laboratory GC-MS analysis on file for this piece.
Stored sealed, away from light, at stable humidity. No treatment applied since acquisition.
